Safi Kani Masandi joined Prime Global in October 2020, completely remotely. Although she’s never been in the office or met any team members, Safi has taken all of this in her stride and is enjoying her new role of Senior Account Executive.
A vivacious, bubbly character, it was a real pleasure to chat to her about the reasons she moved to Prime Global, and life during COVID-19.

Prime Global is thrilled to be listed in the annual Sunday Times Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100 again, for the third year on the trot. This year’s ranking is No. 61, an improvement on our No. 85 position in 2019.
Recently our experts led thought-provoking discussions on the shape of MedComms post Covid -19, especially around congress and live events.
Congress, face-to face visits and meetings are currently not viable. We have had to pivot and use technology to recreate these interactions.
Post Covid-19 we may be lucky enough to see a return to face-to-face, traditional congresses. However, we believe the virtual format is here to stay, and a hybrid model will be the shape of congress in the future.

Prime Global today announced the acquisition of Cambridge Medical Communication, an independent medical communications agency based near Cambridge, UK. Cambridge Medical Communication will join Prime Global’s existing group of six agencies and two consultancies to deliver brilliant medical communications, focusing on scientific excellence coupled with innovative execution.
Prime Global has appointed Sue O’Leary to lead their growing Market Access practice and support the business across the Group’s six full service medical communications agencies. She will be joined by Rebecca Massey, Senior Director, Global Market Access & HEOR.
The Prime Global Group is expanding its senior leadership team with the appointment of Victoria Boswell-Smith, PhD, as Vice President of Client Services, based in their London office. Victoria will be leading Core Medica Ltd and Paragon Medica Ltd whilst current VP, Katherine Kibble, is on maternity leave. Victoria will also be providing support to Onyx Ltd, the Group’s rare diseases agency.
Prime Global is delighted to welcome the return of Christine McCann in the newly created role of People Development Director. Christine began her medical communications career at Prime Global in 2001 and now has extensive industry experience. She is re-joining the Prime Global team brimming with energy and knowledge across many therapeutic areas.
Christine commented on her new position: “I strongly believe that a well-trained, highly performing workforce is a company’s most valuable asset. Prime Global are continuing to invest in their current and future employees – they really do put People First. It’s great to be back!’
Christine’s remit will include driving our Learning and Development Programme for all employees across the Group’s five worldwide office locations. Also, in 2018 Prime Global will launch its dedicated Graduate Development Programme for entry-level writers and client services employees, providing new recruits with a thorough grounding in all aspects of the art of science communications.

On Sunday 28th May, 22 of our Manchester colleagues will be representing Prime Global in the Great Manchester 10K Run.
As The Beatles famously sang, “it was 20 years ago today…” Well, not quite, but 1997 did see the establishment of Prime Global, with just one employees. Now we have over 100 people across three continents and we’re still growing. To celebrate our anniversary, we’ve set ourselves another challenge as part of our on-going programme to give something back to charities close to our hearts.
It’s been a brilliant first quarter for all the Prime Global agencies with business wins and global product launches. As we head into Spring the team continues to be busy with new worldwide opportunities.
Kerry Acheson joins us as Associate Editorial Director for Paragon, based in our brand new Macclesfield office. Kerry brings a wealth of experience to the team having worked in med comms for over 10 years across a range of therapy areas and projects. Kerry has a passion for people, both in training and developing writers, and in building relationships with clients and therapy experts. “I am looking forward to supporting the continued growth of Paragon and developing our new Macclesfield office!”
The Prime Medical Group has taken on three new senior staff: VP, client services Karen Turner and principal medical writer Gauri Saal arrived earlier in the summer, while legal counsel Peter Townsend will start next week. Turner previously worked at Ashfield, the recent buyer of PR firm Pegasus, and Saal at market access firm PRMA Consulting, while Townsend currently works for solicitors Trower & Hamlins.
